With autumn reseeds now sown, make sure you establish your new pasture successfully by following these easy tips…
- Apply Phosphate and Potash to help establish the new plants
- Allow 65-75 days rest between reseeding and grazing
- Apply nitrogen once green cover is visible – use a lower rate than you would normally on your farm
- Aim for at least one grazing in an Autumn reseed before winter housing – but be careful of grazing too late as it could affect regrowth
- Monitor weeds – this is the biggest risk to your emerging pasture. Choose the appropriate weed killers and spray off when grass is at the two/three leaf stage
